EMBODIMENT SESSIONS

Embodiment sessions are photographic portraits intended to celebrate sensuality and self-empowerment.

These sessions are a great way to honor yourself and your relationship to your body, to capture the connection between lovers, to celebrate your sensuality or to help you embrace the changing seasons and milestones of your life. These sessions are open to all genders!

In this society, embracing and reclaiming your right to pleasure and self-acceptance is radical. It will impact the way you move through the world and the effect you have upon it. In order to help make this self-reclamation even more impactful, a portion of each session fee is donated in the client’s name to one of the charities below – all of which help support others who are in need of assistance locally and internationally. I also accept personal requests and recommendations for other charities or individuals who could use some support!

Testimonials

“I loved my time with Mackensey. During my first visit to Savannah, I came solo and booked a session with her on faith. I just got great vibes chatting with her. The day we shot happened to be the day of my wedding anniversary – the first one since being divorced. My shoot with Mackensey was transformative. I was able to let go and leave it all behind me and embrace the woman I am becoming. I felt so great I went for a bike ride and the spa after! I absolutely recommend an Embodiment session with Mackensey, you won’t regret it. “ – Kelly

“I feel so blessed and privileged to have had the soulful healing of Mackensey’s Embodiment Session. Almost my whole life I have been at war with my body. From mass media, miseducation, sexual trauma, self-shaming and body image issues I have experienced the spectrum of neglect on my temple. As a healer, the most important and crucial evolution of my life has been the reclamation of the deep love I have for my body. Mackensey facilitates a space of comfort, vulnerability, intimacy and non judgment. I have never felt safer than being fully exposed and seen through her lens. I wept oceans of tears from a deep well of gratitude when I saw my essence through her photographs. In her photographs, I saw myself for the first time- my timeless beauty, my highest self, and my inner child. This session is the greatest gift I have ever given to myself and this feeling of coming home to myself will forever be in my heart thanks to Mackensey. “-Melissa

My husband set up a Embodiment session for me after we received word that I had breast cancer and would require a double mastectomy followed by chemo. Initially, I didn’t quite know what to think about the sessions. I was uneasy with the idea because I not only tend to be modest, but I was also incredibly heartbroken that I would soon be losing my breasts. However, after I learned what Embodiment sessions were truly about, I fell in love with the idea. These sessions are not about showcasing physical attributes. Rather, they are a means to show your true colors (your true inner beauty) that radiates from within. I needed to learn to look to the light, to laugh, and to embrace my own true beauty. Embodiment sessions are an avenue for you, as a woman, to both recognize and embrace this light from within; and they did just that for me. I am more than my breasts; I am more than my hair. I was able to connect with the world around me and harvest from within myself my own true beauty: my courage, my strength, my vulnerability, and my resolve. I felt these true colors of my own shine through my laughter and my tears. I felt what it meant to be beautiful, to be real, to be me.” – Joyce

Being a natural introvert, I didn’t know what to really expect from Mackensey’s embodiment sessions. Right of the back her energy and spirit was warm and intuitive. She created a safe space of love and open communication. After spending a good portion of my own life at odds with my physical being, from not being taught proper self love from a young age, sexual trauma, society, and expectations, it’s always been a battle for my own self-acceptance. When I saw the pictures I smiled and cried a little because I saw my own raw unfiltered beauty completely unique to only me. I recall the feelings I had during the session, being out in quiet nature it had lifted many burdens and was wonderfully freeing. Whenever I look at these I will be reminded of that feeling and my own inner goddess. I have immense gratitude for Mackensey for gifting me this moment of healing.” – Jessica

“I had the chance to model for Mackensey’s embodiment session a few days back and I am still integrating the super potent healing experience that I had. Mackensey’s embodiment sessions are more than just a series of photos; they are a powerful healing tool for the collective.  Mackensey knows how to hold space for people in whatever way they need, and she intuitively can feel into your energy and be present with you. She has a super down-to-earth and motherly energy about her that makes you feel so comfortable to express and be authentic. Her healing energy and the way she holds space blends with her talent and expertise in photography to create amazing results visually and spiritually. I can honestly say that this was an incredible experience for me and I have never felt so beautiful as I felt in the photos we took. I felt loved, seen, and held during my session. Mackensey was encouraging and kind, and she made me feel completely at ease in front of the camera. She really held space for me to express myself, and she saw me as my highest self, and reflected my strength back to me. We created the photos with powerful healing intentions after a lot of discussion about recent trauma, body dysmorphia, and depression that I was working to overcome, I felt really at ease and comfortable being fully authentic. From that space, I found self love and empowerment through this experience and Mackensey documented that energy expertly. It was a special experience for me, and I truly will treasure those photos for a lifetime, and use them as reminders of who I am and who I want to be. Thank you so much Mackensey!” –Emily

“When I decided to schedule a photo session with Mackensey, I had no idea that it would turn out to be a catalyst for a true goddess awakening within myself. At the beginning of the shoot, I felt a bit nervous and shy, not really sure what to do or how to pose. The way that she held herself and how she was able to guide me through the process was something I had never experienced from a photo shoot before. The space that she held allowed me to surrender into the moment so that I could let my inner Aphrodite shine through. The images that she captured that day show a goddess being reborn into her truest authenticity and they are something that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I am so grateful to her and what she was able to help me tap into that day.” – Brittany

“Saying that I was anxious about doing an Embodiment Session with Mackensey is an understatement. I admired the work that she had shared so much that I didn’t want to pass up the opportunity and I am so thankful that I decided to follow through. Mackensey truly makes the atmosphere so comfortable and fun, I felt beautiful all throughout and even immediately following the session. When she delivered the images I was blown away. For one, every single picture was so pretty! I hardly recognized that woman! Seeing myself through Mackensey’s lens was such a gift and having these to look back on is empowering and a needed reminder of the strong and confident person I am.  Mackensey brings such a peaceful and calming energy to her space, it was easy to open up, get naked, and even throw out some dance moves. As a photographer, this was my first time being professionally photographed by anyone else and I could not be more pleased with the experience. “ –Meghan

F.A.Q’s

Q: Are embodiment sessions only photographed outdoors?

A: I used to only offer these sessions outdoors but am now open to shooting indoors as well, especially during the cooler months! I have a beautiful studio available or am open to doing in home sessions. The most important thing is to make sure wherever we decide to shoot is a location that you feel comfortable and can relax and focus on your senses and connection to your body. I am willing to come to your home and also have in-studio sessions available.

Q: Are Embodiment Sessions only for women?

A: Embodiment sessions are open to people of all genders.

Q: Do I get to choose which charity I donate to?

A: I have a list of charities that I have researched to make sure that the people claiming to get the resources are actually the ones benefitting from your donation! So you can either choose from the list I’ve made, or feel free to reach out and send me information for personal crowd funding or Venmo/cash app accounts of someone you know that is in need of support or a legitimate charity organization you feel called to donate to. I donate $75 per session.

Q: Do I have to be photographed nude?

A: Not unless that’s what YOU want! I would never pressure anyone to go beyond the “edge” of their personal comfort zone. These sessions are about celebrating your connection to your body and sensuality, but that’s going to look completely different for everyone. Wear whatever makes you feel sexy/powerful/soft/confident (however you want to feel for your portraits.) Normally I have everyone start with their clothing on, or at least partially clothed and then if they decide they want to go for the nude shots we do those towards the end of the session. I will be reminding you throughout the experience that you have consent at ALL times.

Q: Can I do a session with my friends, partner or multiple partners?

A: Yes! I encourage people to share their Embodiment sessions especially if they want to split the financial investment or are just nervous about the experience and feel that having someone there would make them more comfortable. These sessions are also open to couples or people in multiple partnerships! I only ask that we keep the number of people under 5 unless you have a special circumstance, in which case I’m open to discussion.

Q: When will I receive my images?

A: Your portraits will be delivered as high resolution digital images on an online viewing site within 4-6 weeks of your session. I try to send a few sneak peeks within 1 week.

Q: Do you do any photoshop or retouching to my images?

A: I adjust the lighting and color of my images but I do not do any heavy skin retouching or body modification.

Q: What comes with my session fee? Can I also purchase albums?

A: The $500 session fee includes a consultation, shooting time, 15-20 edited, high resolution images with printing rights. Most clients choose to purchase a professional album or pressed printed keepsake book in addition to their session fee and digital images. My average client ends up spending around $1200-$1600.
